'Stardust --- returning to the Collective consciousness.'
I created this art work hoping it will drive you to watch real stars.
This art work was exhibited at Tosei General Hospital in Seto City, Japan.
I was excited because the building had interesting characteristics - well-hole style inner court from basement to the roof - and the 'location' was a hospital. It was challenging for me and was a new experience.
・・・My Message・・・
'I want to see a night sky with full of shining stars from the urban district where I live.'
This is my dream from when I was little till now.
I created this art work hoping that when you stand here, it could drive you think about real night stars through the plastic cloth.
I paradoxically used petroleum-based materials.
I saw a movie titled "GAIA SYMPHONY No.3". I leaned about Japanese nature photographer Mr. Michio Hoshino and was deeply impressed by his activities.
In a sense, life is a process where you search for your roots. That is common to all eras and that is extremely mysterious.
I used the term "Collective consciousness" as ethnical memory of a soul or as something that has been there before one's birth but is part of him/her.
We live on earth. There are many myths which refer to stars and astronomical objects. And the stars and astronomical objects have been indicators for us consistently.
When you feel fear for such symbolical existences or when you feel their beauty, you are at the start-point to resolve many modern problems --- such as the destruction of the environment, I suppose.
I hope my individual act would be a travel to the inner universe.
